GALENA – Floyd Central scored two early goals and held off Bedford North Lawrence 3-1 on Thursday afternoon.
The Highlanders got on the board with Landon Campbell’s goal at 32:34, then added a score by Daniel Flores at 25:16. The Stars scrambled back within a goal as Logan Andrews converted a Zach Bradshaw pass at 7:00.
Floyd Central added an insurance goal by Drew Cromwell at 27:12 of the second half.
“We played well against a pretty good Floyd team,” BNL coach Logan Jackson said. “We moved the ball better as the game went on. We had a few letdowns in transition and lot our shape at times, but overall we had a good effort.
“We just need to capitalize when we have chances to score and really crack down defensively when they press us.”
BNL (7-5-1, 1-4 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) will celebrate Senior Day when its hosts Madison on Saturday.
