Bedford North Lawrence’s offense came to life in the second half as the Stars celebrated Senior Day with a 6-0 victory over Madison on Saturday afternoon.
Zach Bradshaw scored three times, all within a 16-minute span, as BNL tallied five goals after intermission to subdue the Cubs. BNL improved to 8-5-1 overall and 2-4 in the Hoosier Hills Conference.
Bradshaw did all his damage as BNL extended its 1-0 lead (courtesy of Logan Andrews’ goal in the 35th minute) at the half.
“At times we were kind of panicking in the first half, and Logan’s goal kind of settled us,” BNL coach Logan Jackson said. “We were able to move the ball and wear them down, and that played to our advantage.”
After Bradshaw’s eruption for the hat trick, which he completed in the 69th minute, BNL added late goals by Seth Sherfick (73rd minute) and Nate Bartlett (80th minute).
BNL also bid its official farewell to the 11 seniors in the program.
“This is a group that has really bought into what we’re trying to do, to set an example of we want to do as a team,” Jackson said. “It’s nice to see their work pay off.”
BNL will conclude conference play at home against Seymour on Thursday.
