BNL’s Wagner wins 100
while Stars claim 2 relays
NEW ALBANY – Bedford North Lawrence’s Micah Wagner sprinted to victory in the 100-meter dash and helped the Stars win two relay races during the Hoosier Hills Conference meet on Friday night.
Wagner zipped to the finish line in 11.33 seconds in the 100, and he also ran the anchor legs as the Stars claimed victories in the 400 and 1600 relays. BNL finished sixth in the team competition with 63 points.
Columbus East won the title with 127 points, followed by Floyd Central (114) and Jeffersonville (76).
Wagner teamed with Isaac Kuuehn, Alex Adams and Garrett Flinn to win the 400 in 43.75 seconds, and that same foursome swept to the line first in the 1600 in 3:26.80.
BNL’s Justin Sims was second in the 110 high hurdles in 15.75. Jennings County’s Aaron Smiley won that race in 15.57.
Columbus East’s Rhett Myers was a double winner in the shot put (52-9) and discus (161-6).
