NASHVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence’s girls cross country team finished 12th in Class 2A while the boys settled for 17th during the annual Eagle Classic at Brown County on Saturday morning.
In the girls meet, the Stars scored 265 points in the 15-team field. New Albany won the team title with 74 points.
BNL totaled 444 points in the 18-team 2-A field in the boys race. Homestead claimed the crown with 84 points.
Danielle Kittaka was the top finisher for the BNL girls, crossing the line on the fast course (which will host the IHSAA semistate) in 23:43.50. Payton Flynn (46th in 24:32.06) and Zoe Zollman (47th in 24:33.81) finished together.
Terre Haute South’s Lily Barton won the individual race in 20:10.31
In the boys race, Chance Pemberton paced the Stars, crossing in 78th place in 19:45.23. Isaak Gilbert was 85th in 19:56.50. Perry Meridian’s Chris Switzer was the individual winner in 17:06.88.
The BNL girls will return to action at Corydon on Tuesday while the boys will compete at Crawford County on Sept. 17.
