SALEM – Kiana Brown recorded another hat trick while Bridget McFarland and Lexi Russell added two goals each, powering Bedford North Lawrence to a 9-1 win over Salem on Tuesday afternoon.
The Stars (8-3-3) exploded for three goals in the first 14 minutes and cruised to their fourth victory in the last five matches (including a tie).
“We played well and never let down,” BNL coach Kelsey Pace said. “Our offense really got going tonight. We had some great looks at the goal, and didn’t have that many that missed the target.”
Brown had two goals while McFarland added another during the early surge. Raven Russell and Jennifer Ramirez added late goals as BNL rolled to a 5-0 lead at halftime. McFarland and Lexi Russell extended the lead to 7-0 before the Lions got on the board with a shot from Rachel Kiefer in the 70th minute.
Lexi Russell and Brown tacked on goals in the final four minutes. Brown has now scored 14 goals in the last five outings.
“We used our passing game to get some great shots,” Pace said. “We are hoping to carry this kind of momentum through the end of the season and into the sectional.”
The Stars will visit Trinity Lutheran on Thursday.
