SOFTBALL: Dufresne, Lambrecht named All-HHC

BNL’s Jenna Dufresne was named to the HHC First Team

Bedford North Lawrence’s Jenna Dufresne and Morgan Lambrecht were named to the Hoosier Hills Conference’s First Team by the league coaches.

Dufresne, a sophomore center fielder, hit .379 and led the Stars (17-11) with 4 triples and 29 runs scored. Lambrecht, a senior first baseman, batted .368 with 2 home runs and 19 RBIs.

Floyd Central, the league and Class 4-A sectional champions, dominated the All-HHC team with four selections: pitcher Kassie King, shortstop Gabbi Jenkins, and outfielders Jensen Striegel and Taylor Castleberry.

The rest of the First Team included New Albany’s Kennedy Wynn and Terah Crosier, Columbus East’s Elyse Babb, Seymour’s Lo Schmidt and Rachel Kaufman, Jennings County’s Kyndyl Olds, Jeffersonville’s Casey Schweitzer and Lizzy Coons, and Madison’s Alexis Wolf.

BNL senior third baseman Marissa Watson, who hit .380 with 19 RBIs, was named Honorable Mention.

Floyd Central’s Troy Striegel and Sean Payne were honored as the co-coaches of the year after leading the Highlanders to the HHC Tournament title. The Highlanders fell too Gibson Southern in the regional.
